Tue: editing optimisation report …

Filed under: Notes — JDE @ 10:19 pm

Today started to go through optimisation report, in a bid to turn it into a cohesive report. (Finished off writing the base on Monday). Needless to say, it needs work … about 1/2 way through, more to follow.

Sun: back again …

Good grief, it’s been a a long time since I posted last … my apologies. Since blogging last, Christmas has come and gone; I’ve moved house, again, to Bishop Stortford; and I’ve changed job, again. 2007 in many ways was quite the year!

Currently working on an optimisation report. Progress has been slower than I would have liked, principally due to being ill over the Christmas break. At the moment, I have a report with an outline of different optimisation techniques. The next step is to review where I am at the moment, as it’s a bit over the place. Tonight I’m going to set the printer up and run off a latest copy to work out what the state of play is, and what needs to be added to make it tighter. I also know I need to spend time formating the mathematics in the report, plus drawing pictures … fun, fun, fun, I know, but will save for a quiet night when don’t feel like doing much else.

I also want to spend some time seeing how these optimisation techniques work in practice. There are 2 O’Reilly books which have a far amount of Python or Excel VBA code showing how to use these techniques. It would be interesting to see how these work in the real world.

Did manage to get the following whilst knocked out with the lurgy over Christmas:
